Bere exciting, but super cool

Sometimes you suddenly get a question like this that makes your heart jump - from enthusiasm, but also from healthy excitement.

Mid-November I was approached by the deaconess of the church in Giessenburg. They had heard via via about the Moyo Care Foundation and wanted me to come and tell something about our work. They might want to support us in the future.

Wow.

That touched me. Even before the foundation officially went ‘live,’ we were invited to give a presentation. Exciting? Definitely. But saying ‘no’? No way 😉 . It just needed some time to land.

After some inquiries about group size (and a golden tip from Jet to make a small PowerPoint - thanks Jet! 😉 ), the initial nerves subsided. I felt: this is going to be good. I know what I want to tell. This is my story. It lives in my heart. And then it's actually not difficult.

Fortunately, the presentation went well and was warmly received. Afterwards, I immediately received a new invitation: whether I would also like to come and share the story with the 2 catechism groups this winter. Because. drum roll...They want to save with both groups, this entire winter season, for our foundation.

Another wow moment.

Of course I said yes. It sincerely moved me how the church thinks along and wants to support our initiative so lovingly.

So in early December, I stood in front of a group of teenagers two nights in a row. And yes, the nerves did return a bit. Teenagers... what to expect? A boys' group and a girls' group. Ready for downtrodden, bored looks and giggling girls?

But what happened?

They listened. Asked questions. Really good questions. They were engaged and curious. It surprised me tremendously - and it touched me.

After three presentations, I went home with a big smile. Proud. Of the foundation. Of the work we do with so much love and dedication. And, secretly, also a little proud of myself.

Because yes ... it was exciting. But mostly: super cool.
