In June, we received an urgent request for help for M., a young woman of 30 years from Zimbabwe.
At a time when the future lay ahead, she developed severe heart failure. For a long time she suffered from health problems. Investigations and treatments followed, with family, friends, and local businesses providing her with as much support as possible.
However, her health suddenly deteriorated. The situation became life-threatening.
The doctors stated that placing an ICD was the only chance to protect her life and give her perspective again. But the costs of this procedure were impossible for the family to bear alone.
Through Dr. Ranganai and Simon, the request for help also reached the Moyo Care Foundation.
From that moment on, something extraordinary happened.
Family, friends, those involved in Zimbabwe, the church congregation in Giessenburg, the proceeds from the Rommelmarkt Giessenburg and the contribution from the Moyo Care Foundation made it possible to finance the operation together.
That is exactly what our foundation stands for.
Not wanting to do everything alone, but connecting people together. People who are willing to contribute, each in their own way, to a life that might have been lost if it had not been for them.
At the end of June, M underwent her surgery.
Fortunately, the surgery went well and she is recovering successfully.
Thousands of kilometers separate Victoria Falls and Giessenburg. Yet this story shows that distance need not be an obstacle when people work together to make a difference.
For M., this means more than just a successful operation.
It means that there is hope again.
Hope for health.
Hope for a future.
And we are extremely grateful for that, along with everyone who contributed.
