Next steps: a website and a business bank account.
Building a website? Not exactly my strong suit. So I decided to outsource that.
I found a good click with Gian. He lives fairly close by, so an appointment was easily scheduled.
But soon I noticed that I had a kind of ... blonde naivete in this too.
I had supplied some loose ideas, and thought: he'll probably make a nice website from.
Only later did it dawn on me:
What do I actually want to say?
Where should what text go?
Which photos fit which story?
What do I want the foundation to radiate?
Without it, it becomes difficult anyway, Lizet 😉
And then the business bank account - another adventure.
According to the Internet, it was a snap: day or two or three.
So why did it seem so complicated with me?
Apparently different rules apply to nonprofit organizations.
Especially if you operate in a country outside the EU.
All kinds of extra forms, conditions and checks.
Very understandable, of course - good even that they are keen on this.
But at that moment I felt like a silly goose for a moment.
Or as Simon and I would say: “a stupid old cow.”
But: we are making strides!
And you know what the cool thing is? I learn SO much from it.
Just do it, and find out how it works along the way.
And then when suddenly a request for help comes in,
Whether a sponsor presents itself spontaneously....
Then I know: THIS is what I do it for.
Have you ever thought: “What did I get myself into?”
Then we are on the same page. Follow our story, support our work, or give a push in the right direction 😉
