Her body couldn't take it anymore. Too fragile, too much was already going on.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Simon remained in contact with the eldest sister.
Occasionally he visited her.
With some food.

When he visited her again in April, he was shocked.
In front of him sat a seriously ill woman. Weakened.
Walking became difficult.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It broke his heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
They spoke together.
At first, she didn't want to go to the hospital.
\u201cI can't afford that... and how would that work?\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Simon reassured her.
That we would help her.
That she wasn't alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
An ambulance came a day later.
She was taken to the hospital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
But sometimes... we are too late.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The next day she passed away.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What remained was to be there.
And helping where possible \u2014 with a dignified farewell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Two sisters.
Which held each other up for so long.
Both vulnerable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Together again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
