The youngest, T., was seriously ill: heart failure, kidney failure, diabetes, and on top of that, an abdominal virus. Because of this, she couldn't keep down her essential medication for her chronic illnesses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
What started as a concern for one person turned out to be a situation that was much bigger and more tragic upon arrival.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
There was hardly any food.
The roof of their hut leaked due to the heavy rainfall.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
And precisely then \u2014 when you are sick \u2014 a dry, safe place is not a luxury, but a basic need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The older sister was visibly relieved and grateful when Simon arrived with some food: rice, oil, and vegetables.
She took his hand and didn't let go.

Together with local stakeholders, we acted immediately.
